In her debut at the FINA World Championships in 2019, Mac Neil delivered an incredible swim to win the world title in the 100m butterfly. She finished off the Games by winning bronze and setting a Canadian record with the women’s 4x100m medley relay for which she swam the butterfly leg. A day after winning silver with the 4x100m freestyle relay, Mac Neil captured gold in the 100m butterfly in Canadian and Americas record time of 55.59 seconds. Margaret Mac Neil was a triple medallist in her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020.
